I'd like to wish my fellow Veterans as happy a day as possible. Thanks for the effort guys.

It's damned hard to keep a dry eye through that one Bill.

Once again remembering my favorite veterans:

SgtMaj. Fred Landon, US Army
WWII and Vietnam
Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Bronze Star

Yoeman 1C Edith W. Stoessel (Landon), USN
WWII

It is my honor to be their son.

Jon, you're right about us veterans not getting the day off. My wife and two grown children have the day off. I have to work, and I'm the veteran in the family. And it would be different if the people who had the day off really understood, and appreciated, what the holiday was all about, but, unfortunately, for most non-veterans it's just another holiday.

:
My service pales before those who went before me and the ones who still serve.
There's a whole lot more, but I can only think the thoughts and feel the feelings and somehow can never find the words that would describe and convey those emotions, even to those who would truly understand.......

All I can say is... Thank You!

Yvsa.

I am one of those vets who doesn't get the day off when it falls on a weekday. Look at the VetDay post I submitted. Add to that my own words: "It is the soldier, not the business owner, who gave us the freedom of free enterprise." Ave veteranos!!!! Brother and sister vet,I salute you!!!!!!!!!
