My vfd fried, so I need a new one. Does anyone have any experience with invertek ip66 vfd?
I know the standard is kbac 27d it seems, just curious what else you guys use.
The invertek is 300 Canadian and kbac is 500 so...

Seems like the invertek is a good brand - "seems" like I used that a couple of times in chemical plant with success. BUT - that was larger drive with 3ph input/3ph output. As long as the model you're looking at is 1ph input and 3 ph output it should be ok. The IP66 is the type of enclosure you're looking for as in dust tight.

Invertek IP55 & IP66 drives are good. They are the de facto standard drive for grinders in Europe, much as the KBAC drives are the de facto standard in the States.

Programming is by parameter list, rather than jumpers and pots. I don't recall seeing a 110V input, 220V output version. If either of these is a problem, stick with the KBAC.

Otherwise, the Invertek is a good choice. I've set up a couple on grinders other people have built and found them easy enough to use. The manuals seem pretty good and the programming is reasonably intuitive.

I went ahead and bought the ip66, single phase input 2hp. Turns out this one is the unswitched version, which is fine for me because I have a control box made up already for my old one.
I definitely got the impression it was from europe, from reading the manual. Also the motor outputs are labeled UVW or something, whereas it would be L1L2L3 here most likely.
