VFD - What am I asking for?

Just a note on using tread mill motors for running a grinder.
Yes, they are fairly cheap.
No, they are not really as powerful as they are rated. (Similar to the 3HP vacuums and circular saws that draw 8-11 amps)
No, they won't last long in a knife shop environment (open faced motor - metal dust will kill it quick).
No ,they aren't rated for the load that a grinder will give. ( They burn out pretty soon if used hard)
