VG10 rolling after cutting cardboard

I always use a box cutter when one is at hand for cutting cardboard. It is abrasive, and some people actually use cardboard as a strop when a real strop is not available.
It is easier to reverse or change a single-edge razor blade than sharpen a good knife, and the razor blade generally lasts for some time.
I just helped with a move, and the box cutter got more use than my pocket knives, though there were times when I reached for them.

They are definitely more efficient most of the time from my experiences.

At work I always try to use my box cutter before I take out a knife, but some jobs, a box cutter does not suffice.

I'd sharpen it at 25 on each side as well. That's how I sharpen all my FSG enduras and when i used them to cut cardboard a lot they performed great.

ok so i brought the edge back up to 20 perside, havent tested it yet

Let us know how that goes.

At one time, I had some of my knives at that angle with a high polish. For the uses, I ended up bumping even steeper to 25 or so per side eventually. But those steels were nothing special, just basic stainless.

you might want to try a convex edge if the v edge rolls again. you might also want to leave a coarser edge if you cut a lot of cardboard
