VG's Mac Mini Update

Funny Story...

I was calling VG on my cell phone tonight. I get his voicemail and start to leave a message. At the time I'm leaving the message, my call waiting chirps in. I pick up the call and it's VG calling me :)

I laughed and told Dave all about it. It was nice to talk to him. Only talked to him for like 3-4 mins, but it was nice. He's excited about the Mac. I'm glad. He seems like a really great guy.

It would seem to me that VG should be getting a delivery either today or tomorrow. Although we speak on the phone I really am excited about seeing him back here and posting.

Shouldn't be long now. :)
 
Along those lines, I have had trouble getting the boxed monitor in my car.
The company I work for is awesome.

Spoke with the head of our mailroom today he said as long as it is for charity they would pack it up for me.

The monitor WILL go out on Monday via 2nd day DHL. VG will have it by Wednesday.:)

Dave's old Mac was one of those all-in-one jobbers. You know..monitor, HD, CD-Rom, all packed into a unit the size of a small TV. Sadly, it will not work. :( That is why Goat Lover has generously donated a monitor.
 
Monitor is in the mailroom where I work and will go out today :D .
 
Oh yeah,

I have not had luck contacting V.G. in the last few weeks.

If anyone talks to him in the next few days, please tell him to expect it from D.H.L. by Wednesday or Thursday.

And another thing.

To the B.F. member who P.M.ed me offering to help out with the shipping (you know who you are :cool: ), it is people like you who make this place like an extended family to me. I am glad we have so many here who will come together and help each other out.

I spoke to VG last night, he did receive the Mini-Mac, but he hasn't plugged it in as yet. He's in the process of moving and will setup the new computer at his new house. Gus has sent out the monitor and VG needs to get internet access at the new place. So, it won't be long now. I'll leave it to him to thank all of the folks who have done so much to help him through this very rough time.

He will be doing a change of address at the Post Office so he will be getting anything that is sent to the old address.
 
I was begining to wonder what the deal was. I know that Tim(Parfive) got the computer out to him, and has started getting checks, but that was about the end of it. Will someone please post when he gets the monitor?

Dave himself better get in here and post when he gets the monitor. Least, that's what I'm expecting. :)
 
We may have a problem.

I sent the monitor via DHL. They will not have access to his new address.

He should get it before he moves. I don't think he is moving for a few more weeks.
 
My check is in the mail. :D No, really! It will be going out in the 10:00 AM pickup here at my office in Washington, DC.

Looks like he got the monitor yesterday. I just hope they (DHL) paid a little attention to all the fragile stickers:D.
