Which one should I get? The 5 lb. or the 18 lb. one from Harbor Freight. Going to be doing mostly folder blades. Thought the smaller one would be ok.

In rock tumbling the vibes from HF seem to fail very quickly. Most move on very quickly to a Thumler or a Gyroc. GyRoc is the industrial one used professionally and can have three tubs stacked. Built to last a lifetime.

I am in no way affiliated with Gyroc just relaying info I learned on another forum.

Or look at reloading tumblers. I have a MidwayUSA branded one that's been going for 10+ years now.

Just got a Hornady vibratory tumbler from Amazon. it's very quiet but it does not stone wash good at all. I left it on for hours and I can do a better job shaking the can up my self in two minutes. If your going to Harbor Freight you can't go wrong with buying the ceramic triangles & putting a handful in a bottle & shaking it yourself. The Harbor Freight tumbler is worthless. The Hornady is the quietest but it needs more vibrating power. I'm thinking about adding more weight to the motor so it will be more unbalanced & vibrate better
