The Cadet offers so much more utility in its opener layer and file. If you just need a knife that will pop an occasional top the Bantam is perfect, but if you need drivers, the Cadet is superior.
If you get the Bantam Alox, it is too thin to be comfortable in the hand but very light.
If you get the Cellidor Bantam, it's actually a little thicker than the Cadet, but with less function. Lighter though

The cadet nail file is a good small Phillips driver, decent awl on softer materials, and a great general poky/probe tool. The two opener layers are much more useful for more odd jobs than the combo tool of the bantam. The can opener tip is a very good driver for larger Phillips screws, the hook part that actually cuts the can lid is a great staple remover, cotter pin pullers for large trailer hitch tongues, and the sturdier flat driver is a good putty/paint can opener and light pry tool that is stronger than the bantam combo tool.
I'm well known for the minimalist approach, but the cadet is already soooo flat and light, that cutting a few tools to save fractions of ounces of weight just is self defeating.
