Vic Electrician

I don't carry one every day, but do have a silver Alox version in my rotation. I enjoy it a lot! It has a substantial feel and I like having the additional sheep foot blade over knives like the pioneer.

I was given one some years past.
In all. Its as good as any other 'Vic product.
I dont like its absent a lanyard hoop, Also its reamer seems the same stuff as 'Vic blades, so its a bit wimpy for reaming even copper for example.

Generally, I dont use folders anyway, Its somewhere in my drawer of mystery bits...

I don't carry one everyday but it is my favorite SAK pattern. You can't go wrong by getting one. Here is a pic to aid in enabling :D

Does anyone use a Victronix Electrician for an EDC?
Jf so, tell us how you like it.
I used to. Loved it. I loaned it to my wife once. Now it is hers. She carries it ALL the time. She uses the heck out of that knife. I am always having to sharpen it for her.

My wife gave me one about a year ago. I wasn't really crazy about it until it worked it's way into the rotation.

I quickly became a fan of it. It was lost on a job site so I replaced it with a pioneer. I lost that one and now I have a farmer! Haha

Those are the only 3 I've tried. Really like all three. But since the small blade didn't get much or any use on the electrician, I prefer either the pioneer or the farmer.

Electrician is a more than capable edc. I'll rotate one in every once and a while. But I find the can opener/sd tip more of a necessity so the pioneer/soldier wins out.

It's the only SAK I own. It has a nice feeling heft and much better pull and snap than the red covered ones. The sheep is great for scribing and opening and Ibuse the awl on wood blanks to make pilot points for my centers on my wood lathe. It stays in the garage as I like a little more craftsmanship in my EDC. Wood, bone, stag, also carbon is always my choice.

Like others mentioned, not every day but quite often. It's a great knife. I switch between that and a Soldier or Pioneer. I carry one of those three EVERY DAY in a great horizontal belt sheath gifted to me from Ken, aka harronek:thumbup:

Love mine too. I find the small sheepsfoot blade very handy, and the awl has a hundred uses. I would carry an alox 5 days a week, and it's usually this or a cadet.

I have both an old cross that I carry, and a newer one that I keep in my shaving kit bag for travel, so they get used quite a bit. One of Vic's best patterns (mainly 'cause of the sheepfoot blade).

I received a Vic Electrician as a gift from a Forum member (thanks, Greg), and carried it daily for almost 2 years. It was my first Alox, and I found that I really enjoy that handle material. As others have mentioned, the main attraction of the Electrician for me is the small sheepsfoot blade in combination with the main spear. I much prefer Alox covers to the classic Vic red celidor, but I always got a lot of use out of the pen blade on Recruits, Tinkers, etc. and miss that secondary blade on Pioneers, Farmers, etc. I no longer carry the Electrician every day because I have other Alox Vics in my rotation, but that Electrician is still my favorite Alox Vic.

Ditto here Paul, in fact that black Pioneer you so kindly gifted me is nearly always with me. If not that one then it's an orange Farmer in Ken's horizontal sheath :D

I don't have an Electrician, but the Sheepfoot blade is one of my all-time favs.

I like the Alox Electrician; sometimes I could use a saw loke the Pioneer Harvester I had and lost a few years ago. Would be a perfect all purpose knife with a saw in there.

Actually one of my favorite knives in my collection-- extremely useful and the sheepsfoot is quite handy!

I don't have one, but always thought it looked like a good pattern

John, is the "wirestripper" cut-out on the sheepsfoot blade chisel-ground? I'm never sure how to try to sharpen that.

Yes, GT, only beveled on the mark side. A ceramic rod or round diamond steel should work nicely to sharpen it.
