OK-So I got a Farmer because of what i read on here and liked it a lot, but I really like a knife with two blades so you can use one for rough work and keep the other one super sharp for fine stuff. I saw the Electrician Plus and ordered one. Its great! Same as a Farmer but a small sheepfoot blade with an oval cutout for stripping wire instead of a can opener and no lanyard ring. The sheepfoot came with the bevel on one side about twice as long as the the other side. Almost a chisel grind. Im going to straighten it out for my use but was wondering if this was intentional or a grinding screwup? Does any one else have one of these? I really like the knife for EDC and the Farmer will probably go into a BOB --KV

I have an Electrician and the small blade (the electricians blade itself) also has different bevels, I'm still pondering if I should grind it to have the same bevels on both sides and also to get a "flat" edge since this blade's cutting edge is slightly curved.

Regards.

The ones I have seen were ground that way, I think it's intentional so the edge is tougher for scraping etc. I always thought it looked like a great addition for a field knife.

I think that blade is designed like that for stripping off larger diameter wire like service type lines. The flatter side allows the knife to be laid almost flat against the wire so not to damage the wire itself.

The Electrician Plus is a very handy little knife. I had Scibeer put a clip on mine.

I have been debating sending it back to him to have a mag / phillips layer added into it. I don't really miss the can opener from the Farmer, but I do miss the phillips driver on the tip of it.

I bought a Farmer this week. So far, great knife! I like the bigger, thicker blade and how solid the knife feels in my hand.
The only thing that kinda bothers me is the lanyard ring. I think it's in the way when I want to work with the main blade or the saw - might become painful after a while.
