Vic Farmer?

I noticed that a lot of folks here like the Farmer for a "woodsy" folder, and I can see where the saw would come in handy, but not so much the screwdriver and bottle opener. Is there a version of the Farmer (or another SAK) that comes with two blades and a saw? Preferably in Alox.

Thanks, guys.

While I have a SAK Farmer as "back-up" in all my day packs, etc., I usually carry and use a SAK Huntsman Plus.

I don't find the Alox to be that big a plus, and I find I use the sicissors, tweezers, toothpick, etc., regularly.

Today's outdoorsman generally doesn't hit the trail with just a pocket tool and his wits...although I know a couple of guys that probably could:D

SAK's like the Farmer or even a full sized multi-tool really come in handy with all their drivers and doo-dads because most folks take things with them that have screws, clasps, or covers that might need a little extra leverage to remove should they need to be repaired in the field.

Personally, I carry a Farmer over the Soldier because the saw doesn't take up much space, and it comes in handy at work. I use the saw to cut PVC and other piping, and the big flatheaded driver does a number on some of the slotted pump plugs that I have to tighten/loosen.

As a daily carry, the Farmer is fantastic for me. Sure a Soldier would be a little lighter, but the Farmer does just fine. Nice stout sharp blade, basic tools for any odd job that pops up, and the bottle opener is ESSENTIAL. The only beer worth drinking that comes in bottles MUST have a pry off cap;)

This man has obviously never had Leinenkugel's, one of the best brew that's widely available in the NE USA. :)

I had Leinenkugel's Red at a bar in Louisville. Now, I enjoy beer. Dark beer, light beer, stouts, lagers, unfiltered wheat beer, and even the pee colored (and flavored) pilsners that many American companies pass off as beer.
Leinenkugel's Red was the first beer in a very long time that I could NOT finish because it tasted of dishwater and vomit:D I've been tempted to try their Oktoberfest since it is on sale at my local grocery store...but man, that Red...:barf:

Alright, I've been searching for a similar answer and not found anything, so I want to bump this up and add a question to it:

I am looking at either the Farmer or the Camper. Let's assume handle material is irrelevant (I am hoping to replace it) and just look at the blades/tools. I have heard awesome things about the saw on the Farmer, is the saw on the Camper the same? I would prefer the utility of having a second, smaller blade (like on the Camper) but not at the expense of giving up the 'legendary' saw on the Farmer :D

Thanks for the input!

I have owned both and the blade on the Farmer is thicker and more robust. I also find the awl on the Farmer to stronger and more usable than the typical SAK awl locate on the back spring. The saw on both is essentially the same, but Farmers are very slightly longer than the cellidor models (93mm vs. 91mm)

If the only factor pushing you towards the Farmer is the saw, I say go with the Camper. The saws are nearly identical except for the slight difference in length. Plus a toothpick and the tweezers are always nice. Good luck!

Thanks for the input Somniloquist. That is what my research said too, but it is best to have someone's hands on opinion. It sounds like the camper is going to be my choice then. Thanks!

The Camper is a fine knife, but you never see threads titled "What's So Great About The Camper." A Camper doesn't get you into the Farmer Club. Everyone needs a Farmer.

If you like saws on your Vics, the 111mm models have very nice ones. I personally love my Outrider. It's typically the only knife I have in the backcountry, and I've never felt under-knifed.
