Vic Farmer?

I like the Fieldmaster. I have a swisschamp and the things I use the most are the large blade, scissors, and wood saw. I think I'll pick up a Fieldmaster soon.

I would definitely go with the Farmer. If you need an extra small blade get a Spyderco Ladybug for the keychain. If you need the toothpick and sissors get a Victorinox Classic. They are small enough to be stashed anywhere. The farmer is easy to carry and just the right thickness in your pocket. Many of the thicker models do not feel right in the pocket.

Also do you really need all of those tools that the thicker models have?

Actually Reeko, you echoed an internal dialogue I was having. All I really wanted was the Farmer with an extra blade. What the others have been saying about the feel in the pocket and other things kind of hit home too. I guess now I have to do some more thinking. Hah, yeah right, I guess the Farmer is the best choice :D Thanks for the input folks.

I like the Farmer, but I carry a Vic money clip that has a scissors, and have an Uncle Bill's sliver gripper for a tweezers on my keychain. When travelling, I'll often have a Vic manager, so that takes care of a pen and bottle opener also.

Farmer covers most things (except perhaps hatchet duties...)but that bottle opener is a MUST in the field,I want to open crown stoppered beer & cider without breakage...Nothing like a drink outdoors!

I use the bottle opener instead of the knife to do things like slit tape on boxes. Saves the blade for more critical use.
