Can I use my Vic to slice oranges with or will this cause oxidation on the metal? Maybe a stupid question, but I have heard that lemon can cause oxidation on metal.

You shouldn't have to worry, as long as you wash off the knife after you are done cutting, as you would care for any stainless food preparation knife.

Yeah, i wouldnt really worry about it vics are very high quality knives. Just rinse it off with warm water and you should be fine. Even so, it shouldnt do much it would just be sticky!

Victorinox (and I bet Wenger too) uses a stainless steel that is about as corrosion resistant as you can get. I intended on putting one out this winter, and letting it sit, but we just didn't get enough percipitation/ days of percipitation to make it worthwhile. Maybe I can go through with it next year or come up with some sort of alternative torture test before then.
