Vic SAK HooK?

parcel carrier for when they were ties with string. If you have a SAK with plus scales you can use it to clamp down on the pen to make it longer to write with.
 
For passing your knife to someone at the other end of a zip line. Or for zipping the zip line yourself if you are really brave.....
 
ah, the last resort super-spy descender tool blade.
not many SAKer realise just how lucky they are in not having to actually depend on this blade tool to carry out risky missions for king 'n country down the cables of stalled ski-lifts or cable cars along the Swiss Alps.
not that it wouldn't work for lighter loads other than that of a fully grown human being; turned the other way round though, one could actually lift stringed items with the SAK acting as a T-handle.
now that would at least save your fingers from some very excruciating pain thus leaving you free to help save the country another day longer.
isn't it amazing what the Swiss can think of?

a good question we get often!

carrying parcels (holding string), picking up hot pots/cups with a bail, holding the pen (extension), for hanging things (using it like the hook on a hanger, clothes/food items) grabbing things in tight places, if you can hook it you can get a nice pull with the "T" design!

like the corkscrew it is only limited by your imagination ;)
 
The Hook or "brain hook" is used during the mummification process. You insert it into the nose and it is used to pull out chunks of brain before you mummify the person.

Yup, I used it to tighten my Hockey Skates back in the day.....
 
Baba that is funny. It looked like it was going to be something like a zipper pull but I think it was much better than that.

I dont like the Hook. The only thing I like worse then not having the tools I need on a SAK is having tools I cant use. Non of the explenations about that hook I ever read so far get me motivated to have it.
 
I like the hook/nailfile found on the Compact's hook . Hooks are pretty in offensive , and can come in handy from time to time .

I thought of modding it into a round needle like awl or something, but I sort of like the look of it. Use your imagination and you might come up with a cool mod.
 
I know this is an old thread but I've seen threads like this a lot at other forums. I'm always surprised that no one uses the parcel hook as a spring puller. That's my main use for it. I don't need it often but once a year I change the step cover/carpets on my RV. Having a spring puller makes the job so much easier. I used to race dirt bikes and I occasionaly find myself helping a buddy with his bike... the hook makes a great spring puller for pipe springs on 2 strokes.
 
Lets see... to hook wires that are out of reach, carry things like those parcel stuff and maybe fish if you've caught a few and have them suspended on a line, and i've used it to make a makeshift hanger from a SAK, but that was after my friend's "hold my beer and watch this" moment. Just don't ask what I had to put on a hanger that was that small ;)
