Great read Vincent! I got the scientist when I went to the surplus store to buy an ALOX Soldier. I knew I would find the soldier there, but I did a double take when I saw the scientist in the display window. I also bought an Eco-line waiter just for the hell of it. So I went to the shop with the intention of getting a soldier and came back home with a soldier, scientist and waiter 
EDIT: the scientist already has a place in my EDC rotation
