...how comfortable is the saw due to the opening hole hump in the main blade?

From my grip, it's not an issue for me. For someone with a tight fisted grip, I could see it getting uncomfortable for extended use. I've just used mine for trimming a few dead lower limbs off trees around a fishing spot on a bank and trying it out on an old broom handle to get the 'loose flakes' off the saw blade when it was new.

this thread is getting a LOTof milage! good work, Pete! I would say *use your SAK's!

Well, that's good. I will be getting it soon! My friend has helped me to get one from the Army Surplus store!

I have used mine for over one year. I am not a big fan of serrations, so I have sharpened both sides of the blade using a Lansky sharpener with standard hones. The serrations will be gone with another year of sharpening. I did not have a use for such a large screwdriver, so I sharpened the screwdriver to turn it into a chisel. The chisel has been useful doing fine adjustments to traps; much easier to use than the large blade.

I also found the saw blade to have metal filings on it. But it cuts like a champ and its strong. At first i thought that serrations on the main blade would be useless but i have found them to be razor sharp and perfect for cutting rope and the bottom section of straight blade useful as well. I always have it with me, either on the trail or around the house. I can't live without it. Great SAK!!
