I have edc an old Trekker one handed opening knife for 4 years. It developed a lot of play, and a few places it was separating from the liner and scales. I sent it in, and it came back worse! No detent now, and it could easily open in my pocket. I waited for it to get bad, and sent it in again. I included a detailed note on the issues.
It came back the 2nd time worse again, with 2 times the up and down play that it started with. A note on the work order said it was within specs. No, it's not, it's got a half an inch wiggle up and down. The lock face is not touching the tang at all.
I called CS, and spoke with Joan. She is extremely nice. I explained that I'm throwing mine away, it's not safe, and not what a Victorinox should be. Within one day she called me back, and is shipping out a new one!
CS was great, but concern over the repair is that none of my note was transferred to the work order.
