Victorinox Electrician Away From Home

Well well well. Look what I found. In the washing machine. I still stand by that my wife was using it and was the one that lost it. She still denies.

But I know what's going on here.....

Paul - great review. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. Your mention of first time parents' first trips reminded me of ours. We ended up stranded in an airport with twin 14 month old boys for almost 12 hours. We came within a single diaper of having to expedite their potty training. I can laugh about it now, but it was a stressful trip. I hope yours is more relaxing.

Great post! Saks are truly a great multi dimensional pocket knife. I prefer the 93mm Alox, although my go to is the pioneer, I need the Phillips screw capability. I have farmers and they are mostly for the woods, I have an electrician and they are my second favorite and indeed your right that sheepsfoot just works so well on packaging (especially kids toys). I must confess my traditionals take a back seat to my saks these days, but with 3 little kids to shuffle around daily the saks just deliver more utility. Enjoy your trip and your electrician!

Thanks guys!

We had a mercifully event-less outward bound trip but have yet to make the return journey. All three of us, well five if you include to two dogs, will be suffering familial exhaustion but hopefully (touch wood) it'll go as well as it started! :D

Paul--great review and great photos! Thanks for taking the time to post them here. I have an ALOX Cadet II that I travel with. Nice and slim, non-threatening, capable and replaceable. What's not to like? I like the Electrician though for the sheepfoot blade and larger size. Hmmm.....

My intro to the Victorinox Alox Electrician was similar to yours. I was going to be gone on a 2-week business trip and wanted a knife that was inexpensive, easy to replace if lost or stolen, and provided some extra tools since I'd be away from my normal set of gear.

It got plenty of use on that trip and I was glad to have a good blade and the other tools with me while away from my home base. That was a couple of years ago and since then I have always carried an Alox SAK of some kind (most often the smaller Cadet) in addition to whatever else I might be carrying.
