Victorinox Farmer Appreciation Thread!

The farmer is great. I also like the electrician plus. But think I would rather have the can opener over the bottle opener.

Ditto on the Alox scales, It's what makes it great !
One of my favorite and most used implements is the Phillips screw driver which unfortunately was sacrificed on the Farmer.
 
I love all mine. I use 'em for whittlin' whilst I camp mostly. Oh, and opening bottles too.;)
 
I am with all you guys.

The SAK Farmer is possibly the best pocket knife ever made -judged on utility and value.

I just took mine on a day hike in the Hawaiian jungle. We swam through streams, jumped off waterfalls, and the Farmer was in my pocket the entire time -soaked to the bone. No rust at all.

Great pocket knife.
 
I carried one until i found an Electrician Plus=Farmer with a small sheepfoot blade instead of a can opener. I really like the small blade for close work and as I alway have a p-38 I didnt need the opener. The Farmer went to college with my son.--KV

I have to say the can opener is my favorite tool in a Victorinox.
1# Can Opener.
2#Small straight screwdriver.
3#Philips driver.
4#Torx driver.
5#Fire steel striker (Once you get the teknike down I prefer it to the awl)
6#Scraper.

I find it the only real reason to carry a Victorinox instead of a Wenger.
 
not to sound too awful dumb but does the farmer have the pick and the tweezers?? just curious. i only own 1 SAK and i dont even know what kind it is.. i have had it for years. it stays in my fly fishing vest

No it doesn't. As far as I know none of the alox Vic's have the pick and tweezers.
 
Was going to go with a Farmer, but went with the Vic Camper instead, specifically
because of the tweezers (darned handy at times).
Have a Leatherman Charge for pliers and such, and the Camper works quite nicely
with it.

Now you guys have me thinking about picking up a Farmer as well :)
