Victorinox innovation

They already tried that, and called it the cadet 2. It didn't sell well, so it went the way of the executive.
well thats a damn shame. thanks for the heads up though.
Like I said, I know my place, so if Victorinox isn't making it, I'm sure there's a reason.

Maybe it's all already been figured out and everything already been done. Victorinox has it dialed in and knows exactly what they're doing and has cold hard numbers to back it up. But damn y'all like to hate on a guy asking for something at least a few of the rest of us are asking for as well. He made a video for a community, reached out and got a response. Now it may have been a pat on the head, thank you and good day, but I would hope not.

He made a video for a community
He made a video to generate views and comments. He’s doing this for him, not for the community. He doesn’t care if people feel strongly that he’s a jerk or a hero, as long as they feel strongly.

Unfortunately, most of the YouTubers are out for themselves, and the potential money reward that comes from sponsors. I don't fully understand it, but from what I do get, there's money to made on YouTube that's nothing to sneeze at. They are certainly not there for our benefit. It's all about blowing up their already inflated ego, with money as the gravy on the taters. Do we really need some guy on YouTube to tell us what knife to carry, or gun to shoot, or car to drive?

Really?

You're 100% correct. Just so you know, content creators on YouTube make money from YouTube for producing content that meets certain criteria; lots of views, viewers watch the whole video start to finish, Number of subscribers, number of "likes", comment activity, and some other various things that seem to change depending on the needs of YouTube to generate YT viewership. Sometimes people are sponsored to make content, but that's mostly about the content as sales generator for the sponsor.

I have nothing against YouTube- it's taught me everything from how to change a bathroom sink to how to rebuild a small block chevy.
There's lots of great content out there with people who are really interested in making great resources that benefit humanity.
To some extent, reviews are even informative, particularly in certain instances where the item being reviewed is overly complicated, new, or otherwise not well understood.

Even Jon Gadget's reviews have some value for the uninitiated, but his problem is that reviewing swiss army knives alone isn't going to generate any income for him.
The product is predictable, inexpensive and ubiquitous; generally things that make SAKs humdrum to the knife-buying masses.
He's got to add drama. He needs Victorinox to keep doing new and different things, releasing new product, so he continually has something to review.
That's the part where he loses me.

People are desperate for that youtube money 🤣

Bottom line, buy a tinker or a Spartan
Use the BS out of the knife
Bend the tip doing something borderline moronic
And don't listen to JG, he has an ego to attend to.

and here I am, all I want is them to replace that silly cadet nail file with a small blade, but I know my place.
I wonder what the steel/hardening is on the file and if was sharpened to a knife/file combo. Would certainly be easy with diamond sharpener if you wanted to give it a try.

I've asked this question before, and supposedly all the tools are hardened to the same spec as the blade.
Theoretically, it's possible, I'm just guessing that you'd always be able to tell that it used to be a nail file.
Not a bad idea though, so thanks.
