victorinox mini screw driver?

The little screwdriver won't fit the screwdriver on my Vic Safari and Vic Trooper models, but fits my Huntsman, Climber, and 111mm models.

There have been about 4-5 different variations of the screwdriver over the years....some of the older ones will fit IIRC. I would have to break out all my 108's to check and I do not have time to do that right now...if you have several screwdrivers that look different, try the round bodied older ones. The corkscrews have changed over the years and the drivers evolved some to fit them.

Found a pic from the last time I posted on this:

Older round screwdriver on top...hexagonal new one on bottom.

Same here. The mini screwdriver will fit my 1970's vintage Spartan and my 2010 Waiter, but not my 1980 (or so) Safari. The pitch of the corkscrew is different. I seem to recall reading that later Safaris had different corkscrews and the screwdriver will fit.

Yes, that screw driver really should have been called an emergency eye glass repair tool. it's not really useful for anything else.
Like any small pin-like thing, it can be used to poke holes, scrape stuff, clean paint and dirt out of screw slots and bolt threads, pry off watch backs, etc. Some of these applications may damage it, but that's not important if you don't need it as a screwdriver, and anyway it's cheap and replaceable. Now that I think of it, it could probably be used as an expensive pushpin to tack a notice to a corkboard.

Thanks to SAK guy for the tip about the older round screwdriver fitting the Vic Safari/Trooper models. I'll keep my eye open for one.
Best Wishes,
