Victorinox One-Hand Trekker

after many years and many models of SAK, i just got my trekker yesterday. definitely fills a niche the other models don't. already used it about a dozen times both indoors and out. being a lefty, i actually appreciate the "reverse" liner lock.

I have a Trekker which I like very much. I ground the serrations off on my belt grinder as I don't care for that feature, but the knife itself is very well designed and functional.

I made a leather strap which hooks onto the ring on the knife, and attaches to my belt. This allows the knife to hang down, vertically, into my right front pocket. The strap has an alligator clip so the knife can be easily detached and used, then put back. The strap keeps the knife from falling down into the bottom of my pocket.

I had this knife with me most of this last week while camping in southern WY. It was my most used knife.

I have two of the German "Bundeswehr" olive drab version without the toothpick or tweezers. One resides in my survival kit, the other I use around the house or slip into a pocket when hiking or camping. I like the locking design and typical high quality from Victorinox.

I have one of these and love it for scout outings. Scout functions typically do not allow a fixed blade knife around here. The trekker and its saw allow me to do most of the woodwork that is necessary and performed great for shaving wood. The serrations being on the end, however, do not lend themselves to doing any wood carving with a smooth finish. I typically bring a medium stockman for that. I have other SAK's with a saw that will do it all, but as was stated earlier, the longer saw on this version and the one hand availability of the main blade make this a keeper.

Got mine today. I went with the camo handle. Looks very nice. Phil was right on with this one. I love it. It is now my EDC due to all the uses and the new locking blade. The serations at the tip are VERY useful. Thanks for the review Phil. Don't know how I ever got along without one.

Awesome I ALMOST bought the standard (non OHT) Trekker the other day bc I don't like serrations, I'm so glad I didn't get it now, I'll definately pick up a plain edged one, also I noticed Knife Center has the plain edge Sentinels too, now if V'nox starts putting clips on them this could spell real trouble for all the other tacticool folder makers.

I have the Bundeswehr version... its the best SAK ever IMO.

And I also have the Swisschamp to compare it with. ;)

I have the version of the german army right now. I removed the serrations and added a flat ground on the whole knife. I has a real tip now and makes a great all-around-knife.

The one below is the GAK, old version. Also made by Vic. Two great tools.

Kind regards
