I should start by introducing myself I'm Steve, I'm not new to the forum but this is my first post. I'm a sak nut, I have about 15 saks and 3 swisstools. I recently found a never used safari stag hunter and a never used trooper on Ebay. Are these good finds? I'd like to edc them, but would I be better off not using them if they have any collector value?

They are both nice knives to have - some SAK enthusiasts would find these collectible - mainly because they are now long discontinued.

At 108mm/4.25" length they might not be such an easy pocket ride.

Don't pay too much for them eg: the Stag Hunter sells for about $40 - but I've heard of people getting them NIB as low as $20.

Not many SAKs are true collector's items since so many of them are made.
But what is "collectible" is often in the eye of the beholder.

I got a Trooper for $10. Don't pay anything higher than that. Just keep watching and pretty soon, "your" knife will come up.

I just picked up a "new" Trooper on ebay for $18. It's well worth the price. Mine will be carryed and used in the woods.

I like the Trooper, particularly the saw/caplifter/etc. component. I've never seen that before.
the cap lifter saw combo is what attracted me to the trooper
