Rambler
I carry a Rambler everyday, in addition to any other knife I carry, I think they are one of the most useful EDC tools. I carried this a few times, but only a few, so it’s time to part with it. It is in excellent shape.
The Rambler has a great pair of scissors. It also has a blade useful for many tasks including opening packages etc. it has a nail file with a 2.5 mm flat blade screwdriver at the end. The combo tool serves as a bottle opener, wire stripper, and Phillips 0/1 screwdriver. It is only 2.3” in length, and weighs in at 1.1 ounce. This Rambler has custom carbon fiber scales which are about 2 mm thick. Made in Switzerland.
Bluegrass Barlow
This is a fine example of these old knives. I believe (not 100%) these were made by Ulster and sold under the Bluegrass name. This knife is tight with good snap open and close on both blades, no wobble, and no cracks in the scales. I tried to take good close-ups of all parts of the knife.
The bolsters on this knife are nickel silver with ‘Bluegrass’ on one side and ‘Belknap Barlow’ on the other. The liners are also steel. The long pull main blade is still full with ‘Belknap/Louisville/KY’ on one side and ‘5722’ on the other. The handles are sawcut Delrin. Overall, this knife has many years of use ahead of it.
