Victorinox SwissTool vs. Leatherman Wave

Holy Freaking Cow!!! Not only has this necro thread been resurrected a handful of times over the past 13 years...........13 YEARS!!!!!!! But it was just posted on again by a member who has 22 posts over the past 13 years. WTF is up with this freaking thread?!?!?

So which do you prefer? LOL!!!

I have to mention that my SwissTool mentioned in the 2010 resurrection run, has died. I was using the handle as a hammer ( yes! I know I shouldn't have!) and the back-spring for the pliers broke. All other tools still work, but the pliers don't "ply" anymore.

This was back in Oct. so I bought a replacement SwissTool Spirit plus with added bit driver. This thing is on my belt every single day. Excellent piece, and I love it. I can see this one lasting the 15 years my old one did, and likely even longer, as I won't be using it as a hammer.

Have yet to buy anything but the Swiss version.

I have a LM Surge and a SwissTool Spirit XBS. The SwissTool is my preferred multicoloured and definitely more sturdy than the LM.

This was worth bumping a thread from 2002? Criminy.

I love the leatherman wave. I have had it since 2002 (16 years) now. It is the best. The op should definitely pick the wave over the Swiss tool although ever since the victorinox spirit came out in 2004 I prefer that over the wave and Swiss tool.

I like Victorinox fit and finish much better, havent handled one of the new Leathermans, but my Wave holds up great, cant go wrong with either one

OK, I have nothing to add other than the fact that I am a Swisstool guy (in my case Spirit X in black oxide) and it has served me well for many years; but honestly I just felt the urge to be a part of this historic thread. Did this one start before there was even a multi-tool sub-forum?
