Victorinox Trekker.

Out of long habit I usually just use the canopener tip for philips screws, lol.
Always found it funny that the OHT has the Philips but the OH Fireman has the Corkscrew!Personally i would prefer the corkscrew for the OHT and think the Philips would be more useful on the OH Fireman as to me that is more of a car knife.

Me too! I figured I'd have to find the french army version in order to be able to open a bottle of wine.

So, does the OHF have all the other stuff the same?

The serrations have their good points and bad points.....It is great for.....slicing through..... old credit cards and stuff like that.....

Points awarded for most out-of-the-box reasons why serrations could be useful. Dang - my credit card expired.....Thank goodness for my serrated edge SAK :D :D :D

Sorry, I just laughed so hard when I read that I just had to quote it!

I bought the serrated version by accident. It looks kind of strange in that it is serrated in the opposite way most partially serrated blades are... instead of the serrated section being near the handle, it's out at the tip.

I haven't used it much yet, but I have a feeling I'll be grinding off the serrations eventually. But maybe not... time will tell.

Stay sharp,

The serrations have their good points and bad points . . . old credit cards

It's amazing how often I read examples of where serrated blades have an advantage where I think "no, I reckon a plain edge would be better for that". I would rather use scissors for cutting up a CC but if I used a knife then I'd rather go with a sharp plain edge. My experience with cutting credit cards is that a serrated edge (like a saw) just doesn't work very well, the card moves more than the blade. I find it easier to push cut than to use a sawing motion with something thin & flexible like a credit card.

Yeah its the same as the OHT with a half serrated one-hand-opening blade but the Fireman has the corkscrew instead of Philips and it has a second blade, a serrated seatbelt cutter blade. That added layer makes it just a little bit more awkward and harder to open, strangely its easier to open left-handed than right handed. The serrated seatbelt cutter blade doesn't lock and has a blunted tip, functionally it overlaps too much with the functions of the regular blade, to me that extra blade is totally superfluous.
For me three layers is about right for the 111mm frame, for that size frame 4 or more layers makes it bulky and negatively affects the ergonomics.
