Nice videos and consistent tests. Didn't that almost fail in that last series of spine whacks? or rather did it stay in the fully open position or did it fold a little?

Hmm, I'll probably have to save up for a cqc-13 too. This is gonna get expensive. :D

Now for a military. The tip will sure fail but will the lock hold? hhhmm?

Thanks for the video Ankerson. That is more harder use in 5min then I will ever put a liner lock through in my life I believe.

Once again consistent and fair in testing. As for the lock, all the way to the right is far better than the alternative so I'd say that indicates the contact angle was done right and the lock did it's job keeping the blade open and secure self correcting for wear and stress as its designed to.

Oh I know that. :D

I was just mentioning it because it did adjust all the way over, that was all. :D

Thanks for the review Ankerson

One thing I'd like to ask is how do you like the handle shape of the 13?.
It's about as good as it gets for me :)

No camera, so borrowed from knifecenter.

Also in the first part of the test, the carving, do you feel the combo edge is a hindrance compared to a full PE?

I'd also like to thank you, And the nutters that send you the cannon fodder for your consistant and fair tests

Cheers mate

:)

The Combo edge worked fine. :)

The knife was comfortable for me. :D

I love the handle of the 13 as well. I must admit I was a bit worried about the tip though.

Oh yeah I realize you have to mention it. I was just saying it as in a 'good for you' kind of way, or more specifically good for your hand and fingers kind of way. :D

Did you indicate the kind of play? I can't really tell if vertical or lateral type or both? I ask because I was wondering if any of it adjusted out after the test?

The reason I ask is I feel the serrations and the chisel would be better served ground on the opposite side of the blade.
I think if the grind was reversed the tendency would be for the blade to bite deeper for a "Whittling" stroke, as opposed to appearing to slide abit and not find..um... grip(?) as in the video. As a Righty... like you.

As a Lefty, Emerson's must rock?.

But you gotta test 'em how they come.

My girlfriend managed to break the tip of my first 13 ....TWICE!!
Well not twice, The first time she cut through rubber matting and managed to slice straight through into a brick wall rolling the tip.
5 min on the stones fixed that.
Less than a week later, she snapped it good and propper prying the rubber seal into a fly-screen for a window.:grumpy:
17 degree's both sides on a Lansky and I've fixed all my problems with it, granted, It's about 3mm shorter than normal and I've had to drop the tip a bit to meet the belly.

My experience with it didn't stop me buying a second one(safe queen/replacement user), And l'll shell out for a stonewashed and swedged version too in the future probably.

Now all I need is for someone to make me a drop on Ti-Framelock for them:grumpy:

:p

It had slight side to side and up and down.

Then it adjusted out on it own during the test so I ended up with none in the end.

the emerson "lefty" grind is done purely for aesthetic reasons. it puts the logo and primary bevel on the same side.
