Still trying to get to know you crazy Beckerheads :P

So folks, let's see who's willing to admit they grew up on video games. What did you play growing up?

During the 80's and early 90's, I had the NES, SNES systems, and in the mid 90's the 486 opened up a whole new world for me. Eventually grabbed the PS systems (way, way later than everyone else) when they came out, and recently the Xbox 360.

I liked the old school JRPGs, with Final Fantasy 3 (6 in Japan) making the top of the list. Nowadays, I play FPS games, though having my sexuality questioned by pre-pubescent kids gets pretty old pretty quick. I can't play as much as I used to when I was in high school and college, so I get lucky to get 30 minutes to play before bed.

I was a World of Warcraft addict a few years back too, but luckily I cut the habit.

Hi, I'm Qeth and I'm a recovering gamer :P

Ok folks, spill the beans.

I was a Half-Life/Counter Strike fan....

Welcome Qeth.

Hardcore Everquest 2 fanatic and can't give it up. I'm actually playing right now while I'm reading posts.

CS was my first FPS game. We wasted many a night on LAN parties with CS.

Thank you. I still get the itch to play WoW every now and again, and I see trailers for the expansion all the time. If I was still single with no kids, I could see myself wasting every single waking, non-work hours on it.

I started with Pong, graduated to Space Invaders, and then kind of tapered out right around the original Super Mario Brothers. :D

In actuality, I'm not a real person. I'm a chicken avatar from Second Life. :p

Mortal Kombat.....

Hah, I remember getting into a heated debate with my best friend over which was better: Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter II. I was SNES and he was Sega Genesis, what can I say.

I had a Nintendo system back in the day--I really only played Super Mario, Duck Hunt, and Baseball AllStars.

In college, I had an Xbox that was used exclusively for Halo. Now I have a 360 that my buddy bought me (good friend!), and I get online maybe once a week to play him for an hour or two.

Further perpetuating the asian stereotype I am a Street Fighter II master. :p

Do you also know a martial art and drive a sup'd up civic hatchback? :P I kid, I kid. I'm Asian as well, so please don't take offense :D

Genesis was the better machine, SNES had better games and was more widely supported by developers.

Similar to the PS3/ Xbox 360 debate. Not very many PS3 exclusives because more people opted for the cheaper 360. Couple years back the PS3 was way, waaaay overpriced. The two systems are much more comparable in price now, luckily for those that want a PS3.

Haha only in video games. However I do know some martial arts but I drove a Jeep Wrangler just to spite them :D

Had a '99 Ford Explorer myself until I traded her in middle of '10. Take that, stereotype! :P

I was crazy into Super Mario Bros. 3, and then Super Mario World on SNES. Lost Levels was the tits, especially since you got to play SMB3 using the SNES controller, which was way more comfortable.

I got into some PS1 stuff, and then some stuff on 64. Gamecube was cool, but then the original XBox came out, that was it for me. Halo, Morrowind, and several others pretty much kept me playin non-stop for years. The 360 came out and I was sucked in hard again. Hacked the old Xbox to have XBMC and put a SNES emulator on it with every SNES game ever and I thought life was pretty much complete.

Then I got into all this outdoorsy jive and honestly I haven't touched any of my machines for more than ten minutes in the last six months. That might change with Deus Ex 3, but for now, I am retired from the gaming scene. And yeah, those little heathens on pretty much every FPS are a pain in the rear. I know a few that are in dire need of a beating.

Yeah, I was sort of thinking that video games on an outdoor-oriented forum is just a touch blasphemous. :p
Seriously, a lot of kids never see the outdoors these days because they stay cooped up safely in their rooms playing Starcraft II.
I think we need more free-range children with dirty hands and feet. :D

i started with my aunt's atari, forgot which model. i still have a couple of nes, snes, n64, gamecube and now wii. derekh - ditto on the lost levels. i finished it once and i'll never play it again! that really tested my patience...whew.

i played a lot of doom, quake, and halo too but i tapered off after about a year after the first xbox was released. i only play super mario, legend of zelda, and pikmin (on the wii) nowadays.

Commodore 64 with a tape recorder
favorite game "The last ninja":thumbup::thumbup: and alot of other c-64 games.

Favorite game growing up...

Tie Black Tiger and Galaga coin ops.

Favorite home console Sega Genesis and had to be Madden Football the original. We would get home after practice and play that like it was going run away if we didn't. Half Back toss right to Neal Anderson from the Chi Town Bears baby!
