VIDEO: Mr. Becker's Chili at the ESEE Campout.

The drama was incredible. I was on the edge of my seat when that cumin came out....damn.

It truly is incredible chili, especially with cornbread. Thanks for the video, the last time I saw Ethan make it, I was watching with Yuengling goggles on and missed half of what he was doing.

Yeah he recommended corn bread with it. We didn't have the gumption or the material to make corn bread so he recommended substituting Fritos corn chips. It was a really good combo.

That video was excellent! I saw a new knife, and heard my favorite Ethan quote. (About the black pepper) "If they don't like it,......."

I thought the guy at he ends performance was spectacular. The drama, and emotion he showed as he was getting ready to gnaw down on the chili, was Academy Award material there. And handsome too. Shit, what a combo. :D

Glad you're here man, I've enjoyed a bunch of your videos.

Thanks a ton for your support! A few people had a fairly strong negative reaction to the overall look of the video. I should probably explain. When I was growing up in the public schools we were shown 'educational' films. They came as actual reels of film and we showed them on a real projector. VCR pretty much killed that but I much preferred watching actual films shown with an actual projector. Inevitably the films would have scratches, weird problems with sound, frame jumps etc. To me, those little imperfections improved the whole experience, but most people see the transition to digitally perfect media as a very positive thing. I have the technological capability to make flawless digital videos and in fact I did if you look at my earlier youtube stuff. But when I watch the early stuff I did, it seems stiff and sterile. I'm stepping back from making modern digitally perfect videos. Sometimes I go to far in the other direction but I'm trying to find a balance. Bear with me.

I must be doing something right- the chili video is already banned in Germany because of the Wagner music. I'm thrilled that they noticed.:)

No joke!! I had to run the link through a proxy to get it to work!! YouTube scans videos and if you use unauthorized music, bam the vid is banned!

God, I love the USA. Wagner is banned in Germany. Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

I don't mind the style - hey it's your vid, edit it as you see fit - no reason it has to be pure documentary. The only comment I have is that the music bed sometimes made it hard to hear dialogue.

Good looking chili - I am with Uncle E on using cut meat instead of ground, but I disagree on beans. I think proper chili will have kidney beans.

EsKabar kitchen knives sounds like a great idea - hopefully they have a nice wide, carbon steel 10" chef's knife in the mix - and a nice flexible 8" boner.

(8"boner - that's what she said)

Well, It all looks good to me. But if I made that chili in Texas, and put beans in the chili :barf:the Police would show up and throw

my redneck @ss in jail. Guess there is some law against it here.:D:D:D;)

Glad you all had fun.

Yeah I'm working on the audio. What sounds good on my computer speakers at home may not sound good on everybody's. I'm by no means a pro at this. Just hoping to make something watchable that is at least as good as the other stuff on youtube. Thanks a bunch for the input.

Great video man, I watched it all the way through, and then showed it to my girlfriend, who also watched it all the way through. The music gets to be pretty loud, and the voices are pretty low in some parts, but overall, it was awesome.

That chili looks amazing, and that frying pan...I want it.

Any information on the Becker/esee collaboration kitchen knives? My girlfriend is a cook, and when I showed her the video she immediately said she wanted one.

Ya'll really wasn't supposed to know about them yet. But you do. :D

No specs, no info, no pricing, nada....yet. With that said they are on schedule for a Blade Show release. All molds and blanking dies are being made now.

gotcha. mum's the word.

Oh, don't worry, its a little late for mum, and Jeff already released info about, um, somewhere else on the interwebz.:D

What does she like about the design? Function?

Moose

Immediately she said size, width of blade and shape...and the dependable names behind the blade. I was actually surprised how quickly she admired it, she says she uses a similar knife all day long at work, but said the one Ethan was using looked a bit wider, which she liked. The reputation of quality and durability behind the Becker and Esee name brands was another big point.

I'll be trying to follow the progress of these knives carefully, great to see some culinary stuff from BK&T.

PS, she says if you ever need a tester, she'd love to put it through it's paces at work lol.

Excellent video. You got mad skills with making them. The end made me LMAO !!! I needed that today. Thanks.
