It seems like the NMFBM got bound up more than your FFBM. Do you think its because one is coated and one is'nt.

It really didn't. ;)

The last few swings with the NMFBM were very light because I didn't want to over swing too much.

Hey Ank, the paracord D-guard I had on my CG NMFBM was incredible. Made it feel safe as hell to handle. I highly encourage you (and anyone with either of these monsters) to put a lanyard or D-guard on yours. It'll help you to really let the beast out of its cage :D

I use a lanyard. ;)

That's what I was thinking and it bit deeper too. :)

That makes sense to me because that coating is kind of rough, Where as the stripped knife is slicker, smoother. Those guys with the competition cutters knives are all satin from what I've seen thus far.

Yeah they are not coated. :)

The coating on mine is really getting smooth now though. :D

That should help when it smooths out i would think. It would cause less drag on the blade. You may have to do that test some more and see what your results turn up. But like you said thats a long blade so you surely don't want to get carried away and that big blade bite you with that kind of force behind it.

I was keeping my swings in control on both knives. :D

I am not crazy. ;)

Saftey is number 1. :)
