VIDEO: NMFBM and FFBM cutting through a 2x4 Standing

The competition knives are a different beast all together. The Mistress knives are unkillable work knives. The edge on a comp cutter is thin as it can be without fracturing during the cuts. It has to slice thick sections of rope as well as 2x4's and PVC etc...

I would be very surprised to see the NMFBM cut a thick wad of free hanging rope or tatami mat the way it is purpose built for long term durability in chopping. Alternately, it is not possible for a competition knife to hold up to the extreme abuse that a Busse will. There is always compromises.

Thanks for the vid Ankerson.

Thanks. :D

I know they have super thin polished edges etc. :)

As a side note, the NMFBM and FFBM still shave and Slice newspaper clean....

Just what was left over from the last few videos. :D

Not including all the others I made and never touched the edges on them after the 1st time I sharpened them. :)

Yes they still shave. :)

Yes they still shave.

Hurricane Jim

OH THE HUMANITY!!!

ROFL :D

I thought I would make that point you know, I still haven't dulled them, the way it's going I won't have to sharpen them for a very long time.

Something like 15 or 20 videos chopping and battoning and the work off camera with both blades and they are still that sharp.

Great video and thank you Ank!...I was loving how deep the NM was biting, and the weight behind the fatty is just brutal on that wood. Both blades did an amazing job...and faster than a hand saw I might add. ;)

Thanks man. :D

Anyone have a picture of the competition cutter? Here are specs the knife must fulfill to be eligible for official entry. http://www.bladesports.org/knifespec.html
