Video: Playing with the ESEE 5 (and 10 day overview)

Very nice writeup and vids. I cant wait to get my 5. Gonna order that and the 3 mil this week to keep my HEST and Izzy II company! My GF thinks I have a problem. I gotta meet the brown santa and get rid of the packaging before she gets home. Then I say, "Na I've had this knife for a long time...you've just never seen it...."

Thanks man! I think you will enjoy the new blades.

That line sounds eerily familiar...

How do you manage to post all of the vids so that I watch them before they are finished processing? Awesome follow up vid though

Thank you very much. I appreciate your interest.

These kind of threads make me want Christmas to come early for me this year. I have asked my wife for the 5 this year for a gift. But man, your videos of your "special time" alone with your knife make me want it too! I just got my first ever ESEE knife in the mail yesterday. The Izula... It has not left my hand! I love doing my little chores around the house with it, just to watch it perform. It will make my lunch today! I am excited to explore what I can achieve with a good blade.

My ESEE family will grow soon!

Ahhh, but the wait will be that much sweeter with anticipation and will force you to bond more with the one your with! I LOVE getting new blades, but there is a lot to be said for spacing the acquisitions out a bit...otherwise the new toy encroaches on the bonding time you should be enjoying last purchase.

Thanks for watching my videos. I enjoy making them, but only if people enjoy watching them.

Grow that family...but grow it slowly so that the roots run deep, my friend!

Just got my 5. So far I like it. I had time with the passaround and wasn't sure I needed one since I have a Becker Campanion that is about same size. I decided I NEEDED one. does that make sense??

Great videos BTW. What cigar is in the above pic? PM me please, someone!

Everyone NEEDS happiness. If a 5 helps you find it, then "sense" be damned.

Thanks for the props on the videos...it is my little way of sharing my enjoyment. Hopefully, I will have more to share at some point.

Regarding the stick in the pick...I am not sure, but the image is from trix2004 so you might inquire with him.

I hate to bump an old thread, but I thought it would be a waste of electrons to start a new one just to post a few new photos of what we did today...

It is just the same ole' 5...same edge I put on it weeks ago...still kicking ass. We split some wood today, built another fire, made this spoon, then used it to stir the hot chocolate my boy and I made over the fire. Nothing amazing...I just wanted to show off this piece of wood that I find utterly beautiful (the wood and not necessarily my carving).

Hope it comes through in the images....

I dig the spoon. What wood is it?

I am the village idiot when it comes to identifying plants/wood. I am pretty sure it is cedar, but what variety specifically...I have no idea (sorry). Someone on another forum suggested that it was an Eastern Red Cedar. I am in Central Missouri FWIW.

Wow excellent work on the edge. Well looks like the ESEE 5 is going on my list too. Damn you guys are gonna cost me a lot more money in the near future :)
