I know I can go to youtube and find a video of just abut anything, however I thought it would be nice to get info from our fellow forumites.
So lets see if this works.

If you want a certain outdoors blade, piece of gear reviewed, or skill demonstrated, all you have to do is post your request here.

Then when a member is kind enough to make a video for us he will post a link to the thread with his video here.

I will update this post here as the list grows and put the video link next to the request; so we know when the request has been filled.

This doesn't have to be a new video, all that counts is the member made the video. Please don't post the actual video here, just post the link to the thread. This way any discussion or ataboys of that video stays in its own thread.

Soooo, what do you think? Good idea or bad idea???

Here is my video request. Cordage, I would love a how to vid on natural cordage.

Great idea, I like it. Should be a good way to get exactly the video instruction your looking for without rolling through a hundred you tube vids of guys that don't know what they are doing. This forum has tons of experience and I know I have learned countless things over the years from the guys here.

Tony, couple questions.
Do you care what kind of cordage material? Vine Fibers, Bark Fibers, Yucca, store bought hemp, etc...
What type of cordage you you want to make? Twined cord is the fastest and easiest but not as strong as braided multi-ply cords.
Do you want to have the processing of the fibers (non store bought obviously) included in the vid, like how to make cordage in the bush start to finish?

That is a great idea. I have a Brian Andrews Bushcraft knife that just came in, and I have a terrasur on the way, but I would like a video on your model Tony. I have been eyeing it for a while now. You could add you Koster as well for size reference since I have one of those as well.

here's part 1 of a cordage vid Tony, Maybe we can do part 2 weds...Or maybe a person of more talent can chime in with another one that includes joining (as my joins are weak) ALso this is more of a field expedient Cordage but it is very strong.

here's a vid using yucca

a similar vid utilizing cattail

MY Vid request.
Proper form on throwing a rabbit stick,
also making cordage using the thigh roll technique

It will probably take too long to record the processing, but if you explain how the fibers were processed that would be great. I prefer to learn which cordage to choose in the field and what the best method of making it is for that material is.

Will do bro, It is my favorite knife and I will be happy to make a vid of that:thumbup:

Tony, this is a great thread.

Am I able to arbitrarily add one of my sharpening videos to this or does it specifically have to be requested?

Thanks John, I was hoping to get you to speak up.

More than 1 video is great, so if anyone else wants to make a video, please do!

Md25v, I'd love to see anything that you can put up bro... Got nothing but the highest respect for you.

Tony,

Still have the link to the bowdrill video you made of me at PEACE? Mind posting it?

Wow, thanks RR. That means a lot coming from you. Your You-Tube channel was actually one of the things that led me to participate in the W&SS forum.

It would might be helpful to keep the request, and the vids on different threads. so that if someone wants to research a vid they can go right to a vid thread and not have to wade through requests and such, just an idea.

Md, That means alot coming from you as I am humbled by your ability as a woodsman, ansd aspire to be that skilled myself one day.. Thanks a bunch..

My very 1st post contains the requests as they come in and the video link is posted underneath the request. If there is no link, there is no video. That means make one.
The only person that has to sift through anything is me:)

Tony Jealous? you know I got plenty to go around. Lol..I'll stop the cross chatter now Sorry for distracting the thread.
