Hey everyone,
I spent a week in the Appalachians drinking moonshine, smoking cigars, hanging out and living with some real cool people. Come along with me on a trip to Terrill Hoffman's Practice What You Preach 2012. This is the first video in a set of many.
A special note to moderators and ninjaz - I apologize in advance. I thought this would be the appropriate place to post this video since I was invited by Ethan and camped in his camp. He will be heavily featured in this series.

In the first episode, cook with the boss and see the new Becker/ESEE kitchen knife prototype.

Thanks on all the hard work on the vids. Can't get enough of uncle E using that 4. Food looks deliciouse as well.

Bill is someone that you should know. He won a very pre-pre-pre production knife from Mr. Becker that everyone was trying to talk him out of. In addition, he is a cool guy and you will learn more about him throughout the series.

Can't be there in May because I'll be neck deep in the Amazon jungle then. I will be there in the fall. I talked to Uncle E about me building a sweatlodge this fall for the gathering. He said I would need dynamite but suggested a sauna instead. I'm going to try to figure something out if I can.

Uncle E is a Cordon Bleu chef, a real one, which is about the highest honor you can get as a chef. He is like a Nobel Prize for cooking winner or a John Holmes of cooking. It is an absolute pleasure to be his cooking servant on these trips.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Have a good time and be safe. I guess I will see you in the fall then. Let me know if you need help on the sweatlodge. I like explosives and haven't been able to play with any since the Army. Should be fun....
 
This second video was as well done as the first - Doc you do actually have a gift.

And until y'all have shared a camp COOKING fire with Ethan Becker = you have not lived.

He can cook anything on a campfire ,and cook it to a fare thee well.

I eat in many 4 and 5 start restaurants,and he does put many to shame = on a campfire !!.

He is an excellent cook. I encourage all of you to hit the spring and fall gatherings at Ethan's. I'll be in the jungle for the spring one but I'll be there in the fall.

Scaaty - I told you that you would show up in the video. :)

EXCEPT the one about his son in law and the daughter in bed - inside joke y'all.
