It's been a while since I did a Beckerhead video. Eli from Godspeed Tactical and I did an overnighter in the Superstition Wilderness last weekend. He had the modified BK-9 that is on passaround along. I gotta say, I loved that knife. The clip point just gives it so much character!

Awesome video! Looks like you two had a great time and put that BK 9 to good use.

That terrain looks so much different than where I am from. Going to have to make a trip there sometime.

Thanks for posting the video.

Nice, man. I was camping all the way across Phoenix from you guys at Lake Pleasant, and it was a damn awesome weekend to be out in the low desert.

I love the Siphon Draw trail and hike it a lot when training for Canyon hikes. It's pretty popular, though... did you have 500 people walking by and peeking in on you when you were doing your thing?

And was that the music from THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN??!?

We didn't make camp until most of the people were off the mountain. I do like things a little more private but it was too good a shelter to pass up. Yes - some of the music is from The Magnificent Seven. Some is from The Wild Bunch.

I've lived in Phoenix for over 30 years and have never checked out the Superstitions. I think I'm going to have to make that happen. Great video!

OMG FCFER, get your backside out to Canyon Lake pronto. Get a Tonto pass and a small cooler full of goodies, a camp chair, then hit the beach at the Acacia recreation site for a peaceful sit in perfect weather. Best of the Superstition rugged views, plus water, minus the obnoxious summer swarm.

Like always AIG, your vids inform, entertain and make me envious. Good job!

Cracking video sir. It looked like a great trip.

I wonder what that wiley critter was.

I didn't see the varmints that Eli saw. I'm guessing it was a chipmunk because I saw a few of those in other areas. I didn't really want to kill it so I didn't use a very big rock. I just wanted to see if the trap would work and if the theory about where to set it was correct. Worked like a charm.

I'm going to make a special effort on the RAT Amazon trip this year to set a lot of traps. I got damned hungry out there last year.

Ah ha. Yes, I understood that to be the case re. not needing/wanting to kill anything. It is good to keep the skills honed nonetehless....sounds like you'll need it too!

I noticed some red marking on the 'wall' behind Eli at a few points. Were these just mindless scrawls by visitors or something a bit more interesting?

Thanks again for taking the time with such a production.

Graffiti.

That's a shame.

Unavoidable though I guess.

Funny story about the trip. When we were walking up Siphon's Draw we passed a girl who was playing some Brittney Spears or some other garbage loudly on a radio. Someone in our party, I won't say who, let loose with a tremendous and stinky fart. She turned off the radio and cleared out pronto!

AWESOME!!!! Thanks for that vid Doc, spectacular as always. :D

And what a star, that Haze BK9 looked good. :D

Lol! Mountain fresh. Delightful.

great vid, loved the ''Western'' opening credits and theme music. Looked like a fun time, I aint got to do any desert hiking/camping since we left southern Utah in '97. I've been around that area in AZ...pretty country.

That was a fun video to watch. I really enjoyed it! Never been down there, but you've given me a reason to check it out. Looks like a fantastic area!

Great video! Thanks for sharing. That bit of PB&J cotton ball was like a freakin' explosion when it caught.
