VIDEO: The modified BK-9 hits the Superstition Wilderness

Damn, that video makes me homesick. I love the Superstitions. Looks like you guys had a fun time.

I just got back from two nights in Roger's Canyon in the S.S. Mountains. Two hours to the trailhead, park and hike 4.5 miles into the canyon. Got below freezing at night but I had a good bag. Plenty of water running in the springs and washes. Yup, sure is a beautiful place.

What you show in the video is the "people side". You need to get further in to the range where you won't bump into anybody. Good stuff, thanks for sharing.

Yeah I know. It was my first time there. I got into the non- "people side" of Ironwood National Monument and the part of Sedona that is south of I-8 earlier in the week. I was looking for a place where I wouldn't have to sleep with my .45 on my chest. I'm heading back down that way in December for another trip to the border lands and to hunt puddy tats (mountain lions.) I maybe will post a thread on here asking for beckerheads to come along on a Superstition adventure. It would be nice to have a guide who knows the area.

What a great location! Glad you guys made it back after getting turned around. It'd be a shame to lose that BK9. ;)

Duuuuuuuuuuude I love Roger's Canyon. Haven't been there in years and am dying to get back. Did you see the ruins? Did you by any chance get up to Reavis Ranch and get some apples?

GOD DAMN I am getting out on some trails this year!

Great video man, I really enjoyed it.

I've hiked in those mountains before, but never camped (Lived in SE Phoenix for 6 years until I came to school). Looks like next time I head back home I'll have to hunt up a buddy or two and check things out :D.

Didn't do the Ranch this time but have a few times before. Sadly, the apple trees are all gone. Just a few farming implements remain.
