VIDEOS: Edge Pro Reprofiling Series

Jim, just curious, to obtain an edge that is really scary sharp (toilet paper worthy) would you just continue the same process with the 3000 grit polish tape and then finish with the 6000 polish tape or is there more to it that that for the ultimate edge?

As usual, your skills and knowledge are much appreciated!

Yes finish it up with the 6000 grit tapes.

It was quick and dirty in the videos, normally I would take more time at it.

Have to make sure the very edge is smooth as glass before moving up.

Jim, great vids. Would you like to try some .3 and .05 micron lapping films? They will stick right on the blanks, they just need to be cut to size. Ben Dale says the 6000 grit tape is 1 micron, I wonder if going to the extreme might make your blades even sharper. In freehanding it gets sharper when I go beyond micron, but then again it is already screaming sharp at 1 micron. To have an EP savant like yourself try those finer grit lapping films would be interesting.
