This Bowie design is reminiscent of a Vietnam era fighting knife and I call it the Defender. Its clipped point makes the Defender a perfect fighting and survival knife. The blade is ground on both the top and bottom making the cross section of the blade a diamond shape. Though it looks heavy the dagger like grind takes weight out of the knife and makes it fast and fierce. The back of the blade has aggressive serrations for better cutting rope, wood and other fibrous material. The blade was ground from 3/16" thick ATS-34 and hardened to 58-60 RC. Black linen Micarta make up the handle which has been sculpted with finger notches for positive grip wet or bloody circumstances. The Defender comes with a black tooled leather sheath

Wow. What a beauty. Interested in making one in satin finish with a tan colored left handed sheath?

Hello and thank you all for the great complaments on this fighter bowie and my work. Bones555 It'll be a pleasure to make another with a satin finish, I prefer the satin. The deal is however I'm running around a 4+ month backlog.
