SOLD this is a one of a kind Viking Axe from Elmer Roush blacksmith. his link is here: http://www.elmerroush.com/viking-axe-poll/
this is his description:
I forged this axe from mild steel and forge welded in a high carbon bit and a high carbon pol. It is patterned after a tenth century Viking axe I saw in Ireland except for the welded on pol.
The added weight of the pol balances the axe and the high carbon steel allows it to be used as a hammer as well. The bit is 3 1/4″ from horn to horn and the length is 5 3/8″ from bit to pol face. The overall length is 19 1/2″. The handle is hickory.
it comes with an extra handle made from oak that is a bit shorter. this is a beautiful axe that really slices. asking ****NOW SOLD SOLD 125.00**** 165.00 shipped CONUS paypal fee included.
