I have a freshly finished viking's axe, up for grabs.
It has a 5 inch long edge and a 18 inch long shaft.

Nice. Interested. Did you forge this? What steel is the head? Weight? Which wood for the handle? Can I see a picture of head/handle attachment point at top. Email jpitcher321 at yahoo daught com.

Meanwhile a gentleman snatched the axe, so it isn't available anymore, but if you wish, I would gladly make you a similar one. It would only take 1-2 weeks and the price would be the same, 170 usd. Please pm me if you are interested or send me a mail to:

And now for the questions :)
Yes, I have forged the axe. It is hammered of 5160 steel.
The handle is made of beech wood.
It weights 2.2 pounds without the sheath and 2.6 pounds with the sheath.
