Belgian Italian (or is it Italian Belgian) knifemaker Alex Salsi made me this beautiful dagger. Now he's making me a sword!

That's totally awesome!! I can see why you had him make you a sword as well. Now you gotta post the sword when it arrives.

Very nice. Simple, clean, elegant. I love the case within a case. I've seen a couple viking daggers here, all using the correct composite edge construction, but havent seen any with the center section of 3 rods twisted construction yet. A Typical Viking dagger would have a center of 3 twisted low carbon rods forge welded together, with 2 high carbon rods welded to the edge to make up the hard edge. Beautiful work, on MORE than just the knife.

Congrats Jos, that is beautiful -- the blade and the sheath. Thanks for the pics, can't wait to see the sword too.
