Hi All,
As promised from a few weeks ago, the Viking Saxe with custom sheath. Probably the nicest knife I have made to date. I will give you the specifics but the pictures speak for themselves. It is very comfortable in the hand the balance point is just in front of the guard in the choil so it moves easily and is not blade heavy. The blade is 440 C from Aldo, guards are Bronze then 416 stainless handle is Black Ebony. The Butt end is 416 stainless followed by a Brass counter weight. Everything tied together with .25 inch stainless (416) Allthread that has been hi temperature silver brazed to the 1 inch tines that form the back end of the blade. Price is $500.00 plus $15 for USPS Priority shipping to the USA only.
Specifics:
Blade: ¼ inch 440 C is 9 3/8 inches long razor sharp as is the upper, Rockwell 59.
Guards and Handle: ¼ Bronze, 3/8 416, Black Ebony, 3/8 416, ¾Brass
Weight: without the sheath is 19.5 oz.
Sheath: Veg. tanned 5-6-ounce weight comes in at 5.5 ounces. It can be worn right hand vertical presentation or cross draw from the left front or hip. Thanks to Jan Dion for his time and effort making the sheath.
File Work: is the vine and thorns pattern starting larger by the handle and getting smaller as it goes down the blade.
Handle is Black Ebony in the Viking style.
Hope you enjoy looking or even better buying it. It was a blast to make and I tried to stay as true to the original fighting knives used in about the year 1000. Comments are always appreciated. Thanks, Ken

Once again thanks for looking and please leave comments. Ken
