Here is my first attempt at what I would call, a short sword. And by first, I mean well, there may be a flaw, or 7. Here goes:
I started with a fuller, on both sides. Being I only have a 10" wheel, it came out way to broad. But me being me, thought I could still grind it up the blade and still have it look ok. Well it didnt. So I ended up doing a single sided convex grind. Next, is the guard. Well, I just don't understand how I could screw up this bad. I think I literally just milled whatever size rectangle I felt and slapped it on! I was confused I think since the blade was convex ground all the way down leaving no ricasso. I tried to see if I could even slightly fill it in with solder but, ended up just making a bigger mess. It is pinned & peened, and is nice and snug. The handle also is a bit cosmetically iffy as I seemed to do everything backwards. Its hard to manuever a sword while you're trying to shape and clean up the handle.
Also there is a very slight warp in the blade. Other than that this thing is awesome!!
Alright lets get to the good parts
Made from 1/4" 52100. Blade mics slightly under 1/4"
16 1/4" blade, and its 23" from tip to butt of the pommel.
Sandblasted brass guard, spacer & pommel.
African Blackwood Handle
Something neat that I tried. Definitely should have planned it out a little better. Either way, its a nice solid blade. Would be cool to hang on a wall, or you could run around your backyard like you're this guy, and chops some limbs off trees.

If the fit and finish would have came out better, and I didn't just give up on it, I would hope to have sold this for $500+. But in this case, I'm asking SOLD shipped to the 50 states
If I don't sell it well, I wont go out of my way to sell it elsewhere, it will probably be my shop edc
