This type of axe is forged by wrapping mild steel over a drift and laminating a high carbon bit into the edge: I used 5160 on this one
I heat treated the edge to the same hardness as I would a large chopper type knife so a file will skate on the edge. A stone is needed to sharpen this axe.
The haft is hand made from spalted ash and measures 14 1/2 inches
The cutting edge is about 3 1/4 inches and the head measures 5 1/2 inches
A simple leather edge cover is included

SOLD delivered within the US. I will not be able to ship this one to other countries. My email and PayPal account is gldrewknives@gmail.com

Got your PayPal, Squish. I will get your axe out in tomorrow’s mail. Thank you!

I have been watching your work evolve and you are on fire lately. I am grateful you made something I need and that I made it in time.

I think this is my favorite axe I've seen you put out. I like the simple design and the laminated construction has always intrigued me.

What was the approximate head weight on this? I'll have to keep my eye out for another one for sure. Your axes are getting scooped up fast.
