Years ago, in my hometown of Washington D.C., they had an exhibit on loan from the Viking museum in Oslo Norway. Very extensive, with the plus of having a curator from Norway giving lectures and answering questions. The everyday stuff they made was breathtaking in both beauty and function. Everything was carved and inlaid, and intricately woven. They were craftsmen of the first order. The few knives they had looked strikingly similar to a modern pukko.
Hollywood has perverted the whole Viking thing into some crack influenced vision.
