villager maintenance and short review

is it necessary/recommended that i treat the raw handle of my bgrs with poly or oil? rhododendron wood. On to the review....

Be sure it fits your hand well. If it's too large or shaped wrong, sand it, slowly and carefully, down to where it feels right.

Then coat with oil.

I'm partial to tung oil, myself.

A light sanding then 2 or 3 applications of tung oil, boiled linseed, truoil, or poly will help seal the wood and keep it looking nice. If that doesn't matter, just use it. Or you can wipe on some mineral oil when you're oiling the blade.
