Villagers from March 27

First villager I have gotten and it is good and sharp, handle should turn out nice when it gets some finish.:)
On one of my villager khuks, the villager I use most when I do get to use a khuk, I have chosen to just leave the khuk as it is.
You might say to see what it will be like were it to be used and abused in Nepal; only it will take me a 100 years to put on one year of Nepalese use.  :D
It has developed a bit of light rust along the spine but that's probably from lack of use as it hasn't been taken out of the car for any tasks for a while now. The light rust wipes right off so I'm not too concerned.
But the handle is what is neat. No more than it has been used it is already starting to put on a nice patina!!!!:D
It's not an even patina of course since my hand only partially covers the handle but it does seem that the patina is slowly, very slowly, moving out from where I generally hold it.
It would be really interesting to see what happens to a villager that's used everyday with nothing but your hand oil's penetrating the wood handle.
Probably everyone here would put on more patina in a month than I would put on in a year at the present time.  ;)
However if I keep on feeling as good, or hopefully even better, than I've been feeling these last few days that could change pretty quickly!!!! :D

Hopefully with the spring weather and positive thoughts, you'll be out there swinging away....anyhow....hope you feel better.

My villager Sirupati by Kumar came today. It is just over 17" and 18 1/2 oz. I could not leave the handle alone - I wanted to be sure to seal it. After some sanding, and a coat of wiping varnish - the wood looks a lot like that on the handle of my Bura 17" GRS...it looks good.

The villager is a bargain....the blade (11 1/2") looks great, and I like the look of the steel bolster and cap.
