I've been meaning to do a give-away for a while. I don’t have the time or the knowledge to contribute as much as I’d like, but I’ve had several good exchanges with members of this subforum and learn a lot from reading everyone's posts here. After sorting out some extras for sale, I decided on this one. A thank-you for you regular contributors! Sooo, without further ado….

Up for grabs is a vintage alox Victorinox Excelsior with old cross shield and awesome brass fixins (okay, on this model, that's just the keyring :p )

This one is in nice condition overall. There are a few scuffs/scratches on the blade--the picture doesn't show this very well on the main blade but it's not too bad--and hints of wear on the alox (pile-side scale is in similar condition as shown). It could probably use a good cleaning though.

Good luck!

Rules:

- 75+ posts in this subforum.

- Just say you're in to enter. If you want to double your chances, post pics of your favorite SAK-traditional combos OR pics of your alox, for a second entry. Additional free chatter welcome. To clarify, that's 2 entries max per person

- Closes Tuesday at midnight. Winner picked by random number generator & announced on Wednesday.

- I will cover the cost in the lower 48. Other US members, as well as international members, are welcome as long as you're willing to cover shipping (USPS).

- By entering, you confirm that you are age 18+ and that this knife is legal for you to own.

Not an entry as I have one already but I just wanted to acknowledge your generosity in giving back as you are such a new member. Good luck to everyone entering.

Here is a picture of the Vic Farmer I brought to Havasu Falls a few years back. I shouId have left the Mora and 530 at home: I only used the Vic on that trip. The F&F on these knives is incredible for the price!

Thanks for the nice giveaway, I'm in. I have 3 SAKs in alox, but none in red. This green Cadet lives in my car's center console.

Wow-that is the same as the first knife I ever owned back in high school. It left my company many moons ago and a long time before I started collecting.
I remermber we used to sit at lunch and see who could peel the thinnest, longest peel off their orange.Aaaah those were the days.
Now they probably have a phone app to do it.Hmmmph.
cheers and I'm in with a good feeling.

Count me in!
And thank you for the opportunity.
I've yet to own an alox SAK.
What generation/year/era is this beauty?

Nice collections everyone! Meako, I'm happy to hear this is such a throwback for you. HuntBomb, not sure what era this is from. Maybe someone else can chime in?

Quick clarification of the selection process: I will use a random # generator until it hits on a valid entry. So if the first lands on a non-entry, I will run it again, and so on, until one matches the post # for an entry.
