Vintage Benchmade Balisong Weehawk VG with box, WITHDRAWN

This is another knife I bought from a knife-loving CIA co-worker back in the 1990s. He had realized that he'd been buying too many, and he wanted to reduce the inventory, possibly at his wife's behest. I think some here can relate. I will try to describe the knife in my next post. Here are a few pics for now.

I discussed this knife with jlydon who was helpful in estimating the condition of this knife. It has sat in my safe since I bought it in the 90s. I had intended it to go in a bug out bag's 1st aid kit, for doing emergency surgery, because the blade is nice and sharp and seemed scalpel-like to me. The only use it's gotten since I bought it, is slowly and carefully opening and closing it a few times. Imperfections: The pins seem pretty loose when open, but everything, including the latch, get comfortably tight (not very tight) when closed. I see a few nicks on the latch, possibly one on the blade. And what looks like a wear line along the blade where it may have rubbed on the frame when being closed by my co-worker. I would say it's in good to very good condition overall, but I am not expert on these. Hopefully the pics can help you judge it. I am looking at $275...NOW $260 which includes shipping in CONUS. ... For the past year I have been trying to find out how uncommon this knife is. I have found very few for sale, nationwide. Ebay: nada. Here are a few ads from other sites such as TriCity and Arizona Custom Knives, showing a price for one, but the knives themselves are "currently unavailable." Looks like $300, $350, and $399 is what they went for.

Vintage Benchmade Balisong USA - $350 (Tucson)

Here is a vintage Benchmade Balisong. This knife is at least twenty years old and has no model number on it. I have owned it since at least 1995. I believe it is an early Model 42 prototype, as it is sporting the Weehawk blade style.The knife is in excellent condition, the pictures don`t do it...
