Vintage Gransfors Bruks double bit felling axe. FULL RESTORATION

As an insanely nostalgic type, I really appreciate this kind of work. Your grandfather would surely be proud and whoever it's next owner is will be as well.
Vinegar soaks for the patina and to bring out the temper line?

Beautiful work. You managed to get rid of all the rust and still leave the patina on the axe without obvious file marks. Care to share any tips on doing that?
Thanks, I used vinegar soaks and various grades of steel wool. Also wiped linseed oil in between stages

Thanks. Yep, vinegar soaks and coats of linseed oil

Very nicely done...Great idea to burn your Grandfathers name on the side !

Excellent work Son. you make a Father proud, and happy that some of the things I shared with you when you were young stuck. I guess I'll have to dig out some knives and participate on here.

Good work on that restoration mate! I think I might have the shorter, fatter twin of your axe: Also a 3.5 lb GBA double bit, but I hung mine on a 28" octagonal haft.

You should definitely post some of your knives in some of the knife threads

Thanks. And that's a sweet piece! Yep, closest pattern to my GBDB i've seen yet.
