Recently picked up this head that I originally thought was unmarked but as I’m cleaning it it seems there’s a bit of a ghost stamp left. Any thoughts as to what it could be? The closest thing I’ve found is the American Axe and Tool Co. badge but I’m really unsure. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

When I zoom, especially cropping a screen shot, it looks like there may be some lettering under the lines to the right. A piece of paper and a light pencil or crayon marking over that area on the paper layed on top of the area may reveal something more. It has worked for me.

I’ll do that. It also faintly resembles the Collin’s Legitimus shield stamp

Ah yes, it does have a bit of that shape, huh. The Collins shield's top lugs are a little wider, though.
